Trained Observers
A service activity of the New Group of World Servers
In every age of crisis, when the world seems shrouded in confusion and despair, there arises a quiet company of souls whose task is not to fight with the weapons of the world, but to stand, to rest, and to see. Within the wider body of the New Group of World Servers, there exists a more subtle band of workers—the Trained Observers. Their service is not loud, nor is it easily recognized by the outer eye. Yet their work is indispensable: they labor to dissipate the glamor and illusion that cloud human vision.
Standing in the Midst of Whirling Forms
The Trained Observers are those who, amidst the storm of conflicting forces, do not turn this way or that. They face the Light. They allow the pure radiance of the soul to stream through their minds, dissolving the fogs of fear, distortion, and half-truth. Their strength lies not in outer action alone, but in the inner poise that anchors clarity in a world of shifting shadows.
Resting in the Heart of Peace
These servers also know the sacred art of rest. Not the rest of withdrawal or escape, but the rest that comes from alignment with the deeper rhythm of the heart. In that stillness, the veils that hide reality begin to fall away. From the heart at peace, a beam of dissipating force projects outward, blending with the greater Light. In this way, the illusions that humanity has woven are gradually undone.
Observing with the Eye of Vision
Above all, the Trained Observers are seers. They look upon the glamour of the world, but they are not deceived by it. With the eye of vision, they discern the true, the beautiful, the real. With the eye of right direction, they know how to apply the needed force—not to destroy, but to reveal. Through their clear seeing, the glamours of the age lose their hold, and the light of truth shines unobstructed.
Their Silent Service
The Old Commentary, in speaking of the work of those whose dharma it is to dissipate world glamour, uses the following expressions:
“They come and stand. Within the midst of whirling forms—some of a beauty rare and some of horror and despair—they stand. They look not here or there but, with their faces turned towards the light, they stand. Thus through their minds the pure light streams to dissipate the fogs.
“They come and rest. They cease their outer labours, pausing to do a different work. Within their hearts is rest. They run not here and there, but form a point of peace and rest. That which upon the surface veils and hides the real begins to disappear and from the heart at rest a beam of dissipating force projects, blends with the shining light and then the mists of man’s creation disappear.
“They come and they observe. They own the eye of vision; likewise they own the eye of right direction of the [Page 318] needed force. They see the glamour of the world, and seeing, note behind it all the true, the beautiful, the real. Thus through the eye of Buddhi comes the power to drive away the veiling swirling glamours of that glamorous world.
“They stand, they rest, and they observe. Such are their lives and such the service that they render to the world of men.”

“They stand, they rest, they observe.” Such is the rhythm of their lives. Their service is not measured in headlines or statistics, but in the gradual lifting of the world’s fogs, the quiet restoration of sanity, and the reappearance of beauty where once there was distortion. They are the unseen custodians of clarity, working in harmony with the planetary spiritual Hierarchy, inspired by the Plan of Love and Light.
A Note of Hope
Today, as destruction and division seem to dominate the stage of human affairs, it is easy to despair. Yet behind the noise, the Trained Observers are at work. They are holding the vision steady, dissipating illusion, and preparing the way for a clearer dawn. Their presence is a guarantee that the Plan will not fail.
No matter how dark the hour, the Light is streaming in. No matter how fierce the storm, the heart of peace remains. And no matter how tangled the webs of glamour and illusion, there is a group—silent, steadfast, inspired—who labor to restore the Plan of Love and Light on Earth.
Truth and Beauty shall prevail.
